Privacy Policy
Janamat is designed for anonymous participation. This policy explains what we do and do not collect.
Effective date: To be confirmed
What we collect
Email address. When you sign in with Google or email through our authentication provider, Privy, we receive your email address. It is used to authenticate you, ensure one account per person, and reconnect you to your existing account. Your email is never shown publicly and is never linked publicly to your voting activity.
Nickname. You choose a nickname, which is your identifier inside the app. We store no other profile details—no name, citizenship number, address, date of birth, or photo.
Wallet address. On your first sign-in, a Solana wallet is created for your account through Privy. Your votes are recorded on the Solana blockchain from this address. While blockchain records are public by design, we do not publish any connection between your wallet address and your email, nickname, or identity.
Votes and polls. We store poll content, options, and aggregate vote counts. Your individual voting history is visible only to you on your own profile. Other users cannot see which polls you voted on or how you voted, and public poll results show only aggregate numbers.
Forum content. Posts and comments you write are stored so they can be displayed in the app.
Device and usage data. We use PostHog for internal analytics—device type, operating system, app version, and feature usage—to understand how the app is used and improve it.
How we use data
- Authenticating you and maintaining one account per person
- Recording votes and displaying aggregate poll results
- Displaying your posts, comments, and polls in the app
- Internal analytics to improve the app
- Responding to support requests
We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.
Third-party services
- Privy — authentication and wallet infrastructure
- PostHog — product analytics
- Railway — application hosting
- Solana — public blockchain where votes are recorded
Each service processes data under its own privacy policy.
Data retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. Blockchain records are permanent by design.
Deleting your account and data
You can start account deletion from Profile → Settings inside the app.
- Deleted from our databases: your account record, email, and nickname. Your Privy authentication is revoked.
- Anonymized: your forum posts and comments remain, shown as “Deleted user”.
- Permanent by design: votes recorded on the Solana blockchain cannot be erased by anyone, including us. They are not linked to your identity, and deletion removes the account-level connection between you and your wallet address in our systems.
Deleting your account permanently removes access to the wallet created for your account. We may retain limited records where required by law.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access controls. Anonymity is built into the system design: even in the event of a breach, votes cannot be traced back to individuals. If you believe your account is compromised, contact support@janamat.app.
Children
Janamat is intended for users aged 16 and older.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date reflects the latest version.
